Modern third generation supervisory control and data acquisition, or SCADA, systems reply on LAN or WAN infrastructure and use common and open IP protocols for communication. While one of the advantages of these SCADA systems is that they are accessible from the Internet, security problems arise as there is no secondary or backup monitoring, recording, and archiving solution.

Upgrading a server is never easy. There are a number of legitimate reasons for actually doing it however, and these are certainly reasons that should not be dismissed too lightly. Perhaps the server is failing, either from a faulty part or a software issue. I found it had problems as followings: Her computer screen was blank at start, and the small speaker in her host computer had no any exceptional alarm. Then I fell to fixing the failures for her. First, I tried to boot up the computer, the strange thing was that I could not hear a “tick” sound for POST (Power on Self Test).

The good folks at Gigabyte gave me some more information on the Radeon 5750 card they make. The card I looked at is model GV-R575D5-1GD-B, a massive graphics card that will power the gaming maniacs into the next year and then some. They sent me some benchmarks where they compared a GTS250 card to the ATI radeon card.

There are many companies who now produce Nettop PC’s. One of the most popular is the Dell Zino HD. These like all PC’s and laptops that Dell offer is fitted some very high quality parts but although very small and compact these Nettop PC’s are extremely powerful.
